Sheraton Waikiki Hotel Review

Location, Location, Location.  That’s what you will find when staying at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.  Great Price, Great Location and Great Service.  Keep reading to get details on my review of this hotel in paradise.

Why stay at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel

Let me start with this:  Why not?

The Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, also known as Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, is centrally located one block away from Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of some of the area’s best shopping (International Marketplace), dining and entertainment.

Everything is within your reach when you stay at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

The hotel facilities include specialty restaurants, a bar, a freshwater swimming pool, a fitness center, a showroom, and various meeting spaces.  Also, nightly poolside entertainment is offered and daily arts and crafts.

This hotel graces its name because it sits in the former estate of Hawaii’s last princess: Victoria Kaiulani.  That part of the history itself is super interesting and if you take the time to learn about the monarchy in Hawaii, you will learn so much about the 50th State of the USA.

The location and the prices are unbeatable, perhaps the reason why you should stay at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.  See it for yourself on this map:

Rooms and Amenities at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel

Stylishly designed rooms and suites boast complimentary Wi-Fi, private lanais and our Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience with premium linens. You can challenge yourself to a workout at the 24-hour fitness center, followed by a dip in the freshwater pool.

Ok, my confession is that I most rather go for a long walk in Waikiki than go into the fitness center, and so I don’t have any pictures of it but I realize different people like different things.

If you can afford to upgrade to an ocean view room, do it.  The view is worth a million dollar.

Here are some of the pictures I took, including my ocean view.

Sheraton Waikiki vs. other hotels in Waikiki Beach

I have stayed almost everywhere in Waikiki Beach, most of the places are super nice but there are some that I will never stay again because they don’t meet the standards.

When it comes to comparing the Sheraton Waikiki with my other favorite hotels, it all comes down to value.

When I go on a vacation, I rarely spend time in the room or hotel; yet I like it to be a clean, safe, comfortable place where I can relax at the end of the day.

The Sheraton Waikiki Hotel has all that.

The place is Clean.

The place is in a safe area.

The place is very comfortable.

As Waikiki being one of my favorite places on earth, and with my insatiable need for the sun; I like to stay as close as possible to the beach.  That’s why most of the times I stay on the beach itself, but the difference in price per night could be as much as $300 – $500 per night between the two hotels on Waikiki Beach that I like and the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, that it’s literally one block away from the beach.

So when I think about the fact that all I have to do is literally cross Kalakaua Avenue and I can be in my own little paradise, then I can’t seem to justify the additional $400 dollars in average per night, that in a 4 to 5-day getaway result in extra $2000 dollars!

That’s enough money for another getaway.

I mean I’m not really into budget traveling, but I do like to be smart with how I spend my money on a vacation.

For all that, I think Sheraton Waikiki Hotel is a great option for you to stay during your Waikiki Getaway, and not a surprise that I’ve stayed there the last two times I’ve been in Hawaii (both within the last 5 months).

Where to book the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel at the best prices

My to go place for booking my Waikiki Getaway Hotels, and as a matter of fact, all my hotels is Hotels.com

The reason for that is because once you book your room through Hotels.com you will collect nights rewards, and for every night you book you get a free night value at the average price of your previously nights booked.

The coolest thing is that you don’t have to use them in the hotel you stayed, rather anywhere in the world.

I literally just booked one night in August for my upcoming European trip using my rewards, and since it wasn’t out of pocket I was able to get a super nice hotel in Rome, that I probably wouldn’t have paid for if I had to pay for it out of pocket.

I like this type of reward because it gives me control on when and where I can redeem it, and the best part of it is that there are no blackouts!

Yes, I will get a commission if you purchase your hotel using my link, but I do walk my talk.

Here is a screenshot of my account with my upcoming trips:

In Summary

Hopefully, by now you know that I won’t recommend something I haven’t tried myself and that I’m not afraid to call out places and things that you shouldn’t try because they are bad.

I honestly don’t see why I wouldn’t stay at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel when I go back to Hawaii I’m sure later this year unless I can land a super deal at Hotels.com at my other favorite hotel which is the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel, but we’ll talk about that hotel in another post.

If I’m going to be saving an average of $2000 for hotel fees and all I have to do is cross the street, then I’m feeling very inclined to add more steps to my daily step count and cross the street, and I think you should do the same.

I can’t wait to hear about your Waikiki Getaway.

Remember to travel more and travel often because Life is a Getaway!
